WHAT-ER Acque Acide

A Collection of Mix-Media 3D Paintings – 2016

I have been inspired by reading about Acid Water in our Oceans. I began to dissolve shells, gradually changing the pH of the water, and photographed the process to create a time-lapse.

I aim to raise awareness about this problem. I create a replica of the destroyed shell and project the time-lapse process onto my paintings during exhibitions.

3D PAINTING TECHNIQUE

The technique I use for creating the paintings in this collection is unique. I gather various building materials, mix them with organic and chemical products, and leave the paintings exposed to different weather conditions for days and months.

“Alessio Ceruti is a young artist whose peculiarity lies in the ability to investigate the environment with a scientific approach and to translate it, without transfiguring it, into a particularly fascinating artistic language.

The international experience gained over the years filtered by a strong sensitivity to the environmental problems is the two elements that make the creative operation of Alessio unique in its kind.

The work carried out to date in the artistic field has at its base refined and constant research and experimentation both in the scientific field and in the strictly expressive one through sculptures, paintings, installations, and videos.

The expressive strength is demonstrated by the enormous documentary and creative depth, but with a real added value in the ability to translate into ART the whole human and scientific process absorbed by studies and experiences in the field. “
